To help foster parents make connections, the Nebraska Foster Parent Advocacy Network (NFPAN) will hold its first “Foster Parents on the Green” social on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Elmwood Park in a designated reserved area.
The event, which takes place noon to 3:30 p.m., will feature food, games for the children, fellowship and networking. NFPAN is a nonprofit organization that provides support for foster parents through shared resources, collaboration and strategic partnerships.
For the past six months, NFPAN has coordinated monthly advocacy meetings regularly attended by foster parents, foster agencies and agencies supporting out-of-home youth.
Together, NFPAN strives to reduce barriers for youth and foster parents, stabilize placement and increase information sharing and collaboration between key stakeholders.
